The latest update is great! The graphics look nice, and it is great to have the video feature.

Good app but annoying (2 stars)
The interactivity of the app is fine. But the notifications are over the top. Last night I got notified numerous times of a tropical storm warning. Finally I went through my settings & turned off the sound of the notifications, so I could sleep in peace. Then, when I opened the app to view the latest weather this morning, a police siren sound went off. Seriously!? I don't want to hear sounds about the weather. If it was a tornado, yeah,

Goes right to radar and has good features but when my wi-fi is connected it said could not connect to wi-fi,good job wtoc! But if you can fix the app I would appreciate a lot!

I have had this flashlight for months.
Of all the flashlight apps (paid or free) this one is the best!!!! I have tried quite a few and this is the one I use..

It is the quickest, easiest, smallest, and brightest one I own.

The interface is clutter free. It has NO ADS which is almost non existent for a free utility app. Plus it shows battery usage while in the black screen.

This is an amazing extremely lightweight app that does exactly what it's supposed to do.

It loads very quickly so you can activate the light and get out of the dark.

I personally leave the light position to ON and just close the app so that the second I tap the icon, I instantly have light when I need it.

A memorable sci-fi fantasy world with a human heart at its core.

Rating: 8/10

If there is a soul, it is made from the love we share.

There are many ways to describe Oblivion, but the softly spoken
afterword by Tom Cruise's character really makes you feel the human
heartbeat of this sci-fi epic.

As always, the trailer is full of explosions and set pieces. Oblivion
the movie is an entirely different beast that values a human story and
characters that are driven by common purpose. While the cast is tiny, I
found much to enjoy from Cruise, Riseborough, Freeman and that Nordic
guy from Headhunters who is showing up more frequently in Hollywood
blockbusters. Aside from unusually limited screen-time, Morgan and
other supporting cast are effective and memorable.

The threads of the plot are well-woven and I won't give anything away,
so what I will tell you is to prepare for a powerful journey into the
unknown where nothing is what it seems. Explosive set pieces take a
backseat for sci-fi philosophy with twists to spare.

Oblivion ticks all the boxes for correct use of literary devices and
establishes enough original cannon to stick in your mind long after the
credits start rolling. It is a distinct success among the largely
abysmal offerings of 2013 so far, don't miss it.

Masterpiece

Rating:

I saw it in Cannes a few days ago, and what a beautiful and strong
movie!

And what a shame this movie didn't get the Golden Palm!!!

I don't want to spoil this movie, but I can just say it's a rare and
beautiful movie about love, friendship, nature and wildness. Very
sensitive, touching.

The cast is great, Reese Whiterspoon, Matthew McConaughey, and the two
children.

Great photography too, with great shots of the Mississippi (among
others).

I'm looking forward to see Jeff Nichols' next project!

You Had Me At Tomorrow…

Rating: 8/10

First off… this is a highly recommended film for anyone with a good
heart – and even a few lacking it. The film opens with voice-over
narration introducing The Crood family. The animated sequence is
minimalist and emulates cave drawings (a theme running through the
film) while it also felt like an homage to Dusan Vukotic, The Zagreb
School and other 'reduction' animators of the 1950s and 60s. The story
has a monomyth structure that integrates family roles in at the
critical spots (future husband as herald, villain as co-paternal
figure, etc.). The first scenes have a specular quality and with a
minimalist mise-en-scene it might have been regarded that these
directorial choices were purely exploitative to the 3-D gimmick. Good
fun action establishes the quirks of a 'pre-nuclear' family
experiencing 'cave-in fever'. Father Crood (voiced by Cage) has all the
qualities and clichés of a responsible father. In fact, the characters
and the story are quite cliché – but it isn't exploitative. Freshness
is retained through moments of self-reflexivity (the popcorn pile,
Guignol shows) and clever situational puns. The minimalist elements of
the staging and mise-en-scene are banished like darkness in light once
the family are forced to venture out into the more majestic parts of a
fantasy world. It is a fantasy world – with dozens of original
creatures and hybrids that make one think of Disney's Alice in
Wonderland. Some of these creatures provide strong 'support' such as
Belt and 'Duggie'. Even 'villains' are appropriated as pets in this
dangerous, threatening but awe-inspiring and enlightening world. The
threats are ominous but not frightening and children of all ages will
enjoy the show (just keep the kids away from Gears of War Kryll
instead). The Croods are cute animated characters and the animation
itself is of top quality and the highest possible technical sheen (the
luscious fur was the most enticing and tantalizingly tactile lure in
the film). The cave-family is physically atavistic in appearance, but
jovial and comically gentle in demeanor. The diastema creates warm
smiles and helps forge loving moments. The ending is a happy one and
there is no Bambi-mother slaughter moment in the entire film (I guess
we are past that now huh). One of the advantages of digital rendering
is the open possibilities that lie outside the strict film medium – the
180 flip dive into the water is mesmerizing. There are great moral
lessons about learning and acceptance that do not preach nor are
prophetic. My favorite part of the film is a sequence where Father
Crood makes his first effort at a change-for-the-better by adorning
himself in 'modern' innovations like the 'Pre-Funk' George Clinton
coif. His ideas backfire into a laugh-out-loud homage to Looney Tunes
mayhem. One other homage stood out (for this reviewer) in the genial
portrayal of a quest for paradise – that is Wil Vinton's Adventures of
Mark Twain and the Adam and Eve story that Vinton retells within that
film. You can't tell me there aren't Biblical allusions either – with
the Noah's Ark moments at the end, paradise lost theme and Adam-Eve
procreation imperative underlying a more overt father-daughter
relationship of trust, growth and acceptance. This film text is rich
for scholarly and critical analysis. The relationship of minimalism and
magnitude play well for a sophisticated viewer while the genial takes
on universal family – and human – values will entertain all… oh and
the mouse-elephants… if you see The Croods for no other reason, do it
for the mouse-elephants.

Very disappointing Marvel.

Rating: 5/10

First off, the plot was so jumpy – didn't know who was where, due to
bad pacing. One minute Stark's in Roseville (or whatever the name of
the town was) – next he's in Miami. Too disconnected. Pacing kept going
back and forth between different characters in their own different
situations, each with their own tension which really unbalanced the
film's atmosphere and failed to draw me in.

The twist was a down right insult. The trailer built up this awesome
bad guy, The Mandarin – a man of Asian heritage who wants to watch the
west burn. But no he's scrapped as a comedy character and replaced by
yet another man who wants nothing more than to make profit – this is
getting a little repetitive now -.-

Plus the reveal was way too early, and they used comedy to reveal it -
not the best way to get me drawn into the story if I'm honest.

Tony's resourcefulness I will agree on – he had various tricks up his
sleeve and that's what did it for me, it was one of the few things that
kept me interested.

The little boy was so generic, I felt like I was watching a family home
alone movie again. He didn't need to be there in any way shape or form,
and just served to set tony up for terrible one liners.

Also, another badly developed character was the one night stand (I
forget her name – Aldridge's assistant). I was to understand she had
become corrupted – over a period of time getting lost in her work. So
how can the film justify her sudden change of heart after a two
sentence speech from Tony? No, I don't buy it.

She has spent the last what, 13 years involving herself in the
Madarin's work? She has been corrupted by his ideals, this is a fact.
They spent half the film building her up and then just threw her away.
Completely bad plot device and not useful.

The one liners started off as funny, but soon became painfully unfunny
and repetitive. There was so much room for deep, genuine heartfelt
scripting, and the film just passed these moments up to get a few cheap
shock laughs from the audience – most of which didn't even have an
impact.

Marvel screwed this one up and I'm glad they aren't doing another one -
I was happy with the ending though, it was the only way to truly finish
Iron Man in style.

Watch it and ignore the critics!

We watched ' Star Trek – Into the Darkness this afternoon (May 9th
2013).

I am not going to reveal specific details because this film is so new
that I am aware that many people still have not had the opportunity to
watch it, and I do not wish to ruin their experience.

Having read the points raised in the 'maddog' review I just wanted to
say that we found it to be a truly absorbing and brilliant film, and
our views are so diametrically opposed to 'maddog' that I genuinely
wonder if he/or she actually watched the same film – or slept through
it and took a wild guess as to its quality.

Star Trek – Into the Darkness is mainly a fast paced action film
interspersed with scenes of human interest which facilitates the deeper
development of the main characters and their inter-relationships. The
phrase 'bonding under fire seems appropriate.

I would urge people not to be dissuaded from watching this film because
a reviewer cannot see the link between Gene Roddenberry's much vaunted
ideals and therefore trashes J.J. Abrams work. Let me just say that as
I am in my 66th year, I have watched ALL the Star Trek series and films
and can advise that this film combines a serious reflection of William
Shatner's portrayal of James T. Kirk but also matures Chris Pine as the
film progresses. As Roddenberry was closely involved with original Star
Trek series I therefore believe that he would approve the direction
that Abrams is taking the latest incarnation of Star Trek.

Star Trek – Into the Darkness is aptly named. It is rich in plot detail
and exciting to watch. It will have many people sitting on the edge of
their seats, willing those embroiled in battle to succeed. Even the
villain (stunningly portrayed by Benedict Cumberpatch) warrants a
certain amount of sympathy from all fair minded people.

My advice – Go, Watch – and be thrilled by a brilliant film. We will go
and see it again!!

Third time's a Charm!

Rating: 10/10

I just saw this amazing movie at its Sundance premiere. It's wonderful
on so many levels I don't know where to start. The performances are
fantastic. If Julie Delpy doesn't get an Oscar nomination it would be a
shame (the only stupider thing the Academy could do is have 10 best
picture nominations.) Ethan Hawke's performance is brilliant in its own
way, however, it's a less showy part and I'm not certain it'll get the
recognition it deserves.

The writing is astounding. Sharp, intelligent, biting, humorous, with
staggering subtext, but most importantly–it feels real. If the
screenplay doesn't get an Oscar nomination it would be a shame (the
only thing stupider the Academy could do is have 15 best picture
nominations.)

Rick Linklater is now officially the Jedi master of indie filmmaking
(Yoda Soderbergh actually said he's giving up filmmaking.) SLACKERS was
only 22 years ago, and Linklater has matured into one of the most
original filmic storytellers in the history of the medium. 95% of the
movie is two-shots of people talking (the other 5% is people talking at
a dinner table and cut aways to the gorgeous Greek landscape.) I don't
know any other living filmmaker who could pull this off. There's a
one-take during a car drive that lasts probably ten minutes (before a
brief cut away), however, it goes on for probably another ten minutes
(and Linklater said he could have kept the whole take, but needed to
show ruins along the country side and cut away for script purposes, not
performance.) There's a 30 minute scene of the two actors in a hotel
room and I didn't even notice it (by that time I was so invested in the
characters and their actions and emotions I wasn't even aware of time,
it wasn't until the post screening Q&A that Linklater mentioned the
actual time of the scene.)

All three, Linklater, Delpy, and Hawke have matured into their rolls
(writing, directing, acting) so easily that it's all just great fun for
them and the audience. This is a must see for many reasons (including
the history of film–there's only one other modern trilogy where the
final film is the best–LOTR, and their food budget was probably more
than the total cost of BEFORE MIDNIGHT.)

i could go on gushing about this movie ad nauseum, however I'll finish
by saying that BEFORE MIDNIGHT is what indie film making (and the
Sundance Film Festival) is all about–truly original, creative, unique,
interesting characters and their stories, told outside the Hollywood
system, by people passionate about their craft (and in this case at the
top of their craft).

while watching the movie is brilliant.The level of detail that has gone
into each frame in creating this world is mind boggling.The result is
an aesthetically pleasing experience that deserves applause.The

Movin' on up!

While most franchises lose their steam with each succeeding sequel, the
Fast and the Furious franchise is that rare exception where its later
films breathe in new life into the series. Once a franchise about car
racing, "Fast Five" took an unexpected turn as a bank heist thriller in
the vein of Steven Soderbergh's "Ocean's 11," a welcomed change as seen
by its huge box office earnings and critical success. Now, "Furious 6"
is neither about car racing nor bank heists, but rather a terrorist
threat with obvious inspirations from "The Dark Knight." Like "Fast
Five," the results are immensely satisfying and undeniably
entertaining.

The key to the franchise's upward turn in quality is due to director
Justin Lin. He is a skilled action director, and many filmmakers can
learn a few things or two from him: The action sequences are
impressive, engaging, comprehensible, and well-shot, with practical
effects to boot. There is a sense of danger, verve, and life in these
scenes rarely found in other films, despite how over-the-top and
ridiculous they may be; and yes, they often drift into gratify-defying
territory. While I usually don't react out loudly when watching a film,
this film had me gasping, jaw dropping, laughing, and applauding,
sometimes all at once!

Another ingredient to the film's success is the chemistry between the
cast members. We have grown to love these characters over the course of
the series that one cannot help but cheer on for them. In particular,
Tyrese Gibson and Ludicrous have such a terrific rapport with each
other that they provide some of the film's biggest laughs and memorable
one-liners. Additionally, Luke Evans is definitely a step up above the
previous film's antagonist, and Gina Carano provides some great
ass-kicking moments, although not much performance-wise. On another
note, I want to mention how refreshing it is to see minority actors
fill these roles. Certainly, the film's use of a diverse ensemble cast
should be commended. As for the story, it's nothing special, but I dare
you not to act surprised when several plot twists are revealed; I did
so more than I would like to admit.

If there's one thing to learn about this franchise, it's that some
change can be a good thing. While the later sequels do focus away from
the car racing, they still featured cars, which helped retain old fans
while bringing in new ones. "Furious 6" is terrific entertainment, and
judging by yet another dazzling cliffhanger and the audience's
reaction, "Fast & Furious 7" will be an amazing finale for the series.
Unfortunately, Justin Lin won't be back around for the last
installment, but someone please get this man to direct every and all
upcoming action flicks.
